Ap­point­ment man­age­ment

The appointment of professors is one of the most important tasks of Paderborn University. Department 4.2 accompanies and supports all appointment procedures at Paderborn University and advises the faculty and the appointment committee.

Uni­ver­sity pro­fess­ors and civil ser­vants

The Human Resources Department - Subject Area 4.2 is responsible for the personnel matters of civil servants in the Central Administration and the University Library as well as the personnel matters of academic civil servants, university professors, junior professors and seconded teachers.

Aca­dem­ic tar­iff em­ploy­ees

Academic tariff employees are employees assigned to the faculties, academic institutions or operating units of Paderborn University who are responsible for academic services in research and teaching in accordance with their employment relationship.

Ten­ure Board

The quality assurance of all tenure track procedures and all procedures for awarding the status of junior research group leader is carried out by the Tenure Board, a committee of the Presidential Board. The Tenure Board oversees all procedures at Paderborn University.

Pro­fess­or­ship rep­res­ent­a­tion

The university may appoint a deputy to fulfil the duties of this position on an interim basis until a professorship is filled (Section 39 HG).

Re­search as­sist­ants

Paderborn University employs research assistants for academic services in research and teaching and related administrative activities. The duties of research assistants are defined in Section 46 of the Higher Education Act (HG) NRW.

Paderborn University offers visiting researchers the opportunity to participate in research and development projects as part of its internationalisation efforts.
