Target group | The course is aimed at employees who have previous knowledge of English at level B1 and would like to gain more confidence in communicating in English for their work at Paderborn University. |
Group size | max. 16 participants |
Content | Communicating in English with students or visiting colleagues can be daunting if you don’t have an opportunity to practice your language skills on a regular basis. This course offers you the opportunity to do just that. The emphasis is on speaking, and participants are encouraged to suggest topics of interest which they find useful for their jobs. Communication difficulties often arise between individuals from different cultural backgrounds because perspectives or expectations differ. Podcasts and video input highlighting cultural topics will provide a base for discussion, thereby improving both listening and speaking skills. Vocabulary practice will equip the participants with the necessary language phrases to discuss these topics and boost their confidence in expressing themselves freely. Looking forward to working with you! |
